DOS natively supports only FAT16.

- Since Windows 3.1 runs on top of DOS, it will also support only FAT16 file system.

- FAT32 is supported by Windows 98 and Windows 95 OEM Release 2.

- Note that Windows NT does not support FAT32. NT supports only FAT16 and NTFS.

Windows 2000 supports FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS
